JOB TITLE: Construction Engineer (Civil, Structural, Architectural) SALARY: CI$95,000 - CI$130,000 pa
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 2-year contract We are seeking a Construction Engineer (Civil, Structural, Architectural) to join our team, responsible for managing contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements, ensuring safety, cost, schedule, quality, and commercial outcomes across CSA works. This role acts as a key technical and commercial interface between design teams, contractors, and project stakeholders, leading delivery, managing risk and change, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
A bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering (or equivalent) 8 years or more of relevant construction project execution experience on complex building projects Experience managing multiple work packages and coordinating consultants, contractors, and vendors across all project phases Proven ability to provide technical oversight, mentor staff, and lead engineering teams as needed Strong track record in maintaining technical standards, governance, and quality Demonstrated ability to promote and enforce a strong safety culture across site teams and contractors Full project lifecycle experience, including design through closeout across small and large-scale projects. Proficiency in project controls and change management, assessing cost, schedule, and risk impacts Contract administration skills, including scope definition and procurement support The ability to review, interpret, and coordinate construction documentation and technical information Experience evaluating, reviewing, and supporting construction schedules, including assessment of sequencing, logic, and execution of risks Knowledge of LEED processes and sustainability compliance requirements Strong decision-making skills aligned with organizational objectives
Act as key technical and commercial interface across design teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment across all project phases Maintain strong knowledge of contract documents and apply this to effective management, administration, and commercial protection, including the timely issuance of contractual notices when required Take ownership of contract administration for CSA works Lead contractor and vendor meetings, driving accountability for performance, cost, schedule, and quality outcomes Plan and facilitate pre-task and workforce planning meetings with contractors Coordinate handovers with site teams to support efficient execution and work transitions Support site quality control, verifying compliance with submittals, specifications, and design intent Take ownership of LEED administration and documentation Manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings, ensuring timely responses and alignment with design intent and contractual requirements Provide technical input into design and constructability reviews, scope validation, quantity checks, and input into negotiations and contract awards Apply Lean construction principles Lead and manage closeout activities for contracts and purchase orders
