The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (“NGCI”) (the “organisation”) is a Public Authority and the country’s leading visual arts organisation and cultural home for Caymanian art. Through exceptional collections, inspiring experiences and meaningful partnerships, we enrich the lives of present and future generations. NGCI is seeking an experienced and imaginative Communications, Membership & Development Manager (“postholder”) to lead an integrated function connecting public engagement, institutional reputation, membership and philanthropic support.
Reporting directly to the Director, the Communications & Development Manager will lead NGCI’s institutional communications and help translate growing public engagement into stronger membership, partnerships and financial support. The successful candidate will develop and implement NGCI’s communications strategy, oversee campaigns and institutional messaging, lead media relations and protect and strengthen the Gallery’s public reputation. The role will also manage NGCI’s membership programme and an agreed development portfolio encompassing sponsorship, donor stewardship, grants and fundraising campaigns. The postholder will work closely with the Director and Board, who retain leadership of major donor relationships, sensitive sponsorships and the most significant funding approaches. This is a management and relationship-focused position. The postholder will directly supervise the Membership & Development Administrator and Social Media Officer. Routine membership administration and day-to-day social-media delivery will be undertaken by these supporting roles. NGCI’s Event Coordinator will lead the operational delivery of membership, cultivation and fundraising events.
Lead institutional messaging, media relations, public relations and reputation management.
You will be a strategic and confident communications professional with strong relationship-management skills and credible experience in membership, fundraising, development or stakeholder engagement.
Experience in a museum, cultural, charitable, public-authority or other mission-led organisation would be advantageous. Knowledge of the Cayman Islands’ media, corporate, philanthropic and cultural sectors would also be beneficial.
This is an opportunity to help shape the next phase of one of the Cayman Islands’ leading cultural institutions. The postholder will play a central role in expanding NGCI’s visibility, deepening relationships with members and supporters, strengthening institutional sustainability and advancing the Gallery’s 2026–2036 Strategic Plan. This role is full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM) but may require additional hours to meet deadlines. The compensation package for this role includes an annual salary range of CI$60,060.00 - CI$69,396.00, health and pension contributions, and vacation entitlement per year. The deadline for application submission is 08 October 2026.
