Surface Preparation: Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary. Prepare walls and other surfaces by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, etc. On-Site Preparations: Build scaffolding, cover fixtures, and protect furniture and floors with masking tape, drop cloths, and other protective coverings. Painting: Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture. Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using various tools. Fill cracks and holes with appropriate materials (e.g., plaster). Safety Measures: Set up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect from unhealthy fumes. Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions. Maintenance: Maintain an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers, and tarps. Clean machines, equipment, and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids. Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to determine their painting requirements and help them make the best decisions for their projects. Estimate time and material costs on painting projects.
