General Labourer/Helper

The General Labourer/Helper is needed for assistance with general construction, building maintenance and finishing, and site preparations for the installation of air conditioning duct systems at various sites in Grand Cayman. Works may be performed in our warehouses or on construction sites so knowledge of site safety, PPE and power tools is required. Duties may also require assistance with retrieving and delivering materials to various sites.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience performing general construction, commercial painting and other general maintenance duties with knowledge of tools and safety guidelines
• Must be proficient in commercial painting duties including prepping, priming and painting ductwork and ducting accessories
• Ability to move heavy air conditioning and installation equipment to and around job sites
• Experience with removing hazardous materials and assisting with erecting various safety equipment such as scaffolding, harnesses, etc.
• Experience with core drilling, pipe work, ductwork, site preparation and clean up
• Ability to assist various tradesmen on construction sites with equipment retrieval and installations/removals
• Ability to work overtime, public holidays and weekends to meet site demands
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure with strict time constraints and deadlines
• Must be neat & tidy and take an exceptional amount of pride in your work
• Working as part of a dedicated and experienced team so must be able to work closely with other members and train and mentor where necessary
• Must be able to communicate in English both written and spoken
• Must possess clean police clearance and be able to provide 2 verifiable references for experience/qualifications
