Job Description
Lead from the field. Build exceptional work. Tranel Group is looking for an experienced, hands-on Construction Foreman to lead daily field execution on custom residential, commercial and renovation projects. This is a working Foreman role for someone who can organize the day, lead crews and subcontractors, understand drawings and sequencing, maintain quality and safety, and step in alongside the team when needed. For a proven field leader who takes pride in craftsmanship and wants meaningful responsibility, this is an opportunity to work closely with experienced construction leadership and help deliver detail-driven projects in Grand Cayman. Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Hands-on leadership: lead from the field, organize the work and directly influence daily productivity and quality.
Build one-of-a-kind work: contribute to custom, high-end residential and commercial projects where craftsmanship and detailing matter.
Real responsibility: work closely with the Construction Manager and take ownership of assigned scopes from planning through completion.
Visible impact: help shape site culture, crew performance, organization, cleanliness and the standard of finished work.
No Cayman Islands personal income tax, allowing compensation to compare differently from many higher-tax jurisdictions.
Live and work in Grand Cayman, with year-round warm weather, world-class beaches and an outdoor island lifestyle outside of work.
About Tranel Group Tranel Group is a General Contractor based in Grand Cayman specializing in high-end residential and commercial construction. We take a hands-on, collaborative approach with a strong focus on craftsmanship, quality, organization, accountability and attention to detail. Our expectation is straightforward: plan the work, solve problems early, communicate clearly, hold the team accountable and deliver work that everyone involved can be proud of. The Role You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of assigned work on active construction sites. You will lead workers, coordinate with subcontractors and trades, review drawings and details, plan upcoming activities, organize tools and materials, monitor workmanship and communicate progress or constraints to the Construction Manager. You should be equally comfortable setting out work, reviewing a detail with the crew, coordinating the next activity, checking workmanship, solving a field issue and working hands-on when required to keep the job moving. What You Will Own
Lead and coordinate daily work for site crews, trades and subcontractors within assigned scopes.
Plan daily and short-term activities and communicate manpower, material, tool, equipment and information requirements in advance.
Work hands-on alongside the crew when required and lead by example in productivity, workmanship and professionalism.
Read and execute from architectural, structural and relevant shop drawings, specifications and approved details.
Communicate work requirements clearly to crews and confirm that instructions are understood before work proceeds.
Monitor workmanship continuously, identify deficiencies early and ensure corrections are completed before subsequent work proceeds.
Coordinate and maintain accountability for tools, equipment and materials assigned to the site or crew.
Maintain accurate daily records, time allocations, receipts, inventory information and required Buildertrend/site documentation.
Maintain high standards for safety, organization, cleanliness and protection of completed work.
Communicate daily with the Construction Manager or Supervisor regarding progress, constraints, upcoming work and required decisions.
Identify field problems, missing information and constructability concerns early and bring forward practical solutions.
Take ownership of assigned work through completion and follow through without repeated direction.
Requirements
5+ years of proven experience in a Foreman role with a General Contractor.
Proven hands-on experience on ground-up construction projects, including foundations, formwork, reinforcing, concrete/structural work and subsequent phases through to finishes and complete handover.
Strong practical understanding of construction methods, sequencing, site logistics and safe work practices.
Demonstrated experience supervising workers, coordinating subcontractors/trades and maintaining productivity and quality.
Ability to independently read and execute from architectural and structural drawings, specifications and details.
High standard for workmanship, detailing, organization, cleanliness and protection of finished work.
Proven ability to identify problems, make practical field decisions and drive solutions without requiring constant direction.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to clarify instructions when needed and provide clear updates to site management.
Comfortable using technology and construction/project management systems for daily reporting and documentation. Buildertrend experience is an asset.
Caribbean or island-logistics experience is an asset.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
Who Will Thrive in This Role This role suits someone who naturally takes ownership of the work in front of them. You do not wait for every next step to be assigned; you plan ahead, organize the crew, identify what is needed and keep the work moving while maintaining Tranel Group standards.
Hands-on, proactive and accountable.
Leads by example and is willing to work alongside the crew when needed.
Organized and able to plan the day and upcoming work before it becomes urgent.
Confident directing workers and coordinating with subcontractors and trades.
Calm under pressure and practical when solving field problems.
Clear communicator who asks questions when something is unclear and follows through on commitments.
Detail-oriented with high standards for craftsmanship and finished work.
Consistent about safety, site organization, cleanliness and care of tools and materials.
Comfortable being held accountable for productivity, quality and completion of assigned scopes.
Able to adapt to island construction realities, including procurement, lead times, logistics and weather.
