The role includes testing, delivering, modifying, maintaining, and supporting the development, implementation, and operation of desktop, network, and server hardware and operating systems to meet identified business needs, utilizing the necessary resources and skills within agreed parameters of cost, quality, and timeline. The technician will assist clients with varying levels of computer literacy in the use of desktop, network, and server resources, while configuring and maintaining hardware and software, troubleshooting system issues, performing upgrades and antivirus updates, conducting daily backups, and maintaining accurate technical documentation. Responsibilities also include repairing or replacing damaged hardware, ensuring electrical safety standards, evaluating new hardware and software, maintaining strong working relationships across departments, and contacting vendors when necessary to resolve system faults and document solutions. The technician will additionally assist with basic UAV/Drone setup, calibration, and post‑mission data handling as needed.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or possess at least five years of experience in an on site IT support environment. Strong technical capability is essential, including hands on experience with hardware, software, and peripheral support; solid knowledge of network connectivity, cabling, and general networking fundamentals; and preferably two years of experience setting up and managing O365 and Azure infrastructure. Certifications such as A+, Linux+, CCNA, Microsoft Systems Engineer, VMware, or Network+ are considered advantageous. Applicants must demonstrate excellent face to face customer service skills, the ability to work effectively in both office and field environments, and a willingness to train on UAV/Drone platforms as needed. Knowledge of GIS or related data processing tools is beneficial, and the role requires flexibility for on call duties during evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
