Waitress/Cashier

The Waitress/ Cashier is the face of Pizza Hut. We seek outgoing personalities and genuine smiles. Each position will take orders in store or by phone, close transactions and complete side work including cleaning. Correctly and quickly prepare food orders placed by the customers. They are responsible for completing sales transactions within the establishment and performing other support functions which may include cleaning the food, dining, display and/or stock areas and assisting with stocking activities. Be willing to assist other team members from time to time. Will perform all other responsibilities as directed by the business, or as assigned by Manager or Supervisor on duty.

Essential Functions

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly service, verbally, written and digitally
• Maintains a solid knowledge of products and services available and able to help guests choose from the menu options on offer
• Seats guests at tables, or helps guests choose menu items for dine-in, take-out or delivery
• Assists in managing pick-up, delivery, and dine-in orders efficiently
• Accurately process customer orders and payments (in-person, cash, card, or online)
• Operates the POS and receives payment from customers in cash or debit/credit card, accurately counts and provides change to customers as required, and follows all Pizza Hut customer service and cash handling policies and procedures
• Assists in locating, reconciling, and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operates equipment with peripheral electronic data processing
• Supports kitchen staff with food/ vegetable prep, condiments and packaging
• Make products per the customers' orders. This includes such items as pasta, garlic bread, sandwiches, wings, breadsticks and pizzas
• Cleans and stocks work areas
• May perform other duties from time to time as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor on duty

Requirements

• Clean police clearance certificate with no criminal charges
• Prior food safety training and skills an asset
• Work split shifts, nights, days, weekends and public holidays between Seven Mile Beach and Countryside locations
• Experience with Aloha Restaurant software an asset
• Must pass Pizza Hut International Certification online and written tests
• Efficiency and accuracy
• Good hospitality, computer/ POS skills, speaking, math and reading skills
• Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time
• Prior F&B service experience preferred
• Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers well, in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
• Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
• Requires the ability to lift/push objects weighing over 10 lbs (light to moderate loads)
• Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
