Job Description

The Role Next Act is recruiting an Operations Supervisor / Instructor to combine day-to-day operational management of Next Act with direct delivery of specialist drama and performing arts instruction. This is a full-time, on-island role. Key Responsibilities

  • Instructing and coaching drama and performing arts across all age bands (3 to 17), in one-to-one, small group and cohort settings.
  • Preparing candidates for LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) assessments under Next Act's Private Centre registration.
  • Designing and delivering extra-curricular enrichment programmes, in-school workshops, holiday camps and community sessions.
  • Developing term programmes, session plans, and instructor resources for cohort groups across the 3 to 17 age range.
  • Directing and rehearsing showcase performances, in-school productions and freelance direction work for partner schools.
  • Delivering TIE productions on social, emotional and community-wellbeing themes, in collaboration with schools and Cayman charities.
  • Advising and consulting with partner schools on drama, applied theatre and inclusive performing arts practice.
  • Supervising Next Act's day-to-day operations, including scheduling, participant enrolment, venue logistics and family communications.
  • Ensuring safeguarding and child protection standards are maintained across all delivery.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • A specialist qualification in Drama (BA Hons or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching or coaching qualification, ideally at postgraduate level (for example PGCE with a Drama specialism).
  • Substantial practical experience (a minimum of seven years) of instructing drama and performing arts to children and young people
  • Proven experience of inclusive practice with children who have additional learning needs and social emotional needs.
  • Demonstrated experience of designing structured drama programmes, including participant progression frameworks and age-differentiated content.
  • Experience of directing and rehearsing school productions and public showcases.
  • Alignment with Next Act's five core values (Self-Advocacy, Diversity, Community-Driven, Empathy, Imaginative) and commitment to inclusive, participant-centred practice.
  • Signed and sealed Cayman Islands Police Clearance Certificate
  • Recognised child protection certification (for example Darkness to Light).
  • Current CPR certification.
