PHYSICAL EDUCATION SCHOOL TEACHER (PRESCHOOL – GRADE 8)

First Baptist Christian School is a private K-8th Grade Christian school and Preschool with a student population of about 220 students. FBCS was founded in 1996 and seeks to prepare students to be life-long learners who are equipped to Learn, Serve, and Lead their schools and communities. PE Teacher First Baptist Christian School is recruiting a committed Christian PE to join our team at First Baptist Christian School. Applicants must be fully certified teachers with a Bachelor of Education and able to obtain a teaching license and must be Caymanian or be eligible to obtain a work permit. Applicants with a minimum 3-5 years teaching experience preferred and employees must also be able to subscribe to the Statement of Faith of First Baptist Church of Grand Cayman. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical education, a commitment to promoting physical activity and healthy living, and the ability to inspire students to lead active lifestyles. The PE Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging PE lessons, organizing sports activities and events, and promoting the importance of physical fitness to students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive PE curriculum that aligns with educational standards
• Plan and deliver engaging and interactive PE lessons that cater to students' varied learning needs
• Organize and supervise sports activities, intramural programs, fitness challenges, and annual Sports Day.
• Assess student performance and complete reports throughout the year
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to promote physical wellness initiatives
• Manage students’ behavior in accordance with the school’s discipline policy
• Prepare school teams for participation in inter-school events and rallies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field (Masters degree preferred)
• 3 years prior experience teaching PE at the elementary/middle/high school level
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and engage students in physical activities

The salary range is between CI$45,300.00 – CI$53,361.00 and is determined by the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
