ASSISTANT BARTENDER

Assistant Bartender Location: Cayman Islands Position Summary Gusto Cayman is seeking enthusiastic and motivated applicants for the position of Assistant Bartender to join our energetic, customer-focused team. Key Responsibilities Drink Production & Guest Service

• Prepare beer, wine, and basic mixed drinks according to established recipes and standards.
• Serve guests at the bar during high-volume periods.
• Take guest orders and accurately enter them into the POS system.
• Process cash and credit card transactions and close checks in accordance with company procedures.
• Verify identification and refuse service to underage or intoxicated persons in compliance with Cayman Islands liquor laws.

Bar Operations

• Stock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, and glassware.
• Prepare fruits, syrups, cocktail batches, and fresh juices.
• Change kegs and CO₂ tanks and monitor gas levels.
• Clean and maintain bar areas, glassware, equipment, and service stations.
• Set up and break down bar stations before and after service.

Operational Support

• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Participate in inventory counts and restocking activities
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, promotions, and beverage pairings.
• Provide coverage for bartender breaks, absences, and slower shifts as required.

Compliance & Safety

• Follow all Cayman Islands Liquor Licensing Laws and company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with Department of Environmental Health requirements.
• Report equipment malfunctions, shortages, incidents, or safety concerns to management.
• Safely lift, move, and transport cases, kegs, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds or more.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of beverage service and bar operations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and professional demeanor.
