Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Leading the monitoring of business trends, opportunities, threats, and industry challenges. Strategically positioning CUC to respond to and secure business growth opportunities including those that lie within the latest trends in the industry. Leading the evaluation and adoption of alternate energy and new technologies
  • Overseeing and providing leadership for strategic planning of future generation, transmission & distribution and required infrastructure to ensure that future load demands are forecasted and planned for to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operations to company standards, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring effective collaboration between CUC business units to enable and support the provision of engineering assistance, feasibility studies, project cost estimates and construction support services for the company.
  • Leading the development of CUC’s Project Management Office, ensuring the introduction of formalized project management methodologies, effective resource allocation (People and Financial), and that projects are implemented according to approved work plans and schedules.
  • Developing collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across the organization and external to CUC to build and deliver effective solutions and strategies.
  • Leads the development of CUC’s Project Management Office, ensuring the introduction of formalized project management methodologies, effective resource allocation (People and Financial), and that projects are implemented according to approved workplans and schedules.
  • Responsible for the preparation and control of the department's budgets.
  • Responsible for effectively leading and engaging a team of experts in their own fields. Coaches, mentors, and develops employees within the team.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education required  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering  Master’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred  Minimum 12 years’ experience in electric utility business development, engineering planning or related activities  Minimum 7 years’ experience leading and supervising staff  Professional Engineering registration required  Professional Project Manager (PMP) or equivalent preferred  Knowledge of the electric utility business / industry
