Job Description

Northview is the investment arm of a Cayman Islands-based private investment office. Northview manages a diverse investment portfolio spanning multiple jurisdictions, asset classes, and investment styles. It invests in both traditional and alternative assets, including hedge funds and private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, and life sciences funds. We are looking for a Private Equity Accountant to join our Private Equity team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with a background in auditing and a genuine interest in private equity. Reporting to the Director of Private Equity, the ideal candidate will be someone who works well within a small team and brings a collaborative, professional approach to their work.

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

  • Processing and payment of capital calls and investment transactions, ensuring entries to the Portfolio Management System accurately reflect capital calls and distributions on a timely basis.
  • Monthly reconciliation of investment positions to capital statements and the Portfolio Management System.
  • Preparation of analysis and updates to the Investment Review Committee.
  • Assisting with cash flow and commitment management analysis across the Private Equity, Real Estate, and Infrastructure portfolios.
  • Performing analysis of existing portfolios and assisting in the due diligence of new investment opportunities.
  • Assisting in the maintenance, preparation, and distribution of monthly Private Equity Reports, Budgets, and Forecasts in accordance with the format set by the Investment Review Committee.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures across the team.
  • Undertaking any other tasks and projects that may be assigned by management from time to time.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACA, or ACCA) and a relevant bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
  • An internationally recognized investment management designation (CFA, CAIA or equivalent) would be a distinct advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience either in auditing funds, or fund accounting/private equity investment administration.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles, particularly in relation to investment products, and a proven ability to analyse and fully understand company financial statements, corporate capital structures, and company valuations.
  • An understanding of Private Equity, Real Estate, and Infrastructure investment structures, related investment strategies, and the risks associated with alternative investment products.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management systems such as FactSet, Fusion Invest, and the Cobalt Private Equity analytics platform would be a distinct advantage.
  • An understanding of US Federal and State tax filing requirements for non-US investors would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent IT literacy, including expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, full familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, and ideally experience with Power BI.
  • Highly numerate, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and a firm commitment to accuracy and excellence.
  • The ability to work within a dynamic environment, share workloads, work cross-functionally and be able to self-manage and prioritize work effectively.
  • Willingness and ability to work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends, as and when required, to complete the work and meet deadlines.

A comprehensive remuneration package is being offered with excellent benefits and a salary in the range of US$95,000 to US$110,000 per annum depending on experience and ability. his position operates within a 40hr work week, with office hours being 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
