Job Description

STEEL FITTER

Using hand and power tools to cut and bend bars or mesh Tying steel reinforcement bars (rebar’s) to build cages Fitting spacers and chairs (supports) Using rebar to build special casts to keep setting concrete in place Fixing steel to concrete bases Setting out the work area, following engineering plans Installing beams and pre-cast slabs. Ability to read and interpret Structural and Rebar Shop drawings. Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed. Constructing structural components from raw materials. Using welding equipment to fuse structural components. Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size. Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed. Creating a suitable maintenance schedule and performing system maintenance accordingly. Create takeoffs based off Rebar Shop drawings. Program and operate computerized rebar cutter & bender. Conducting diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction. Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed. Adhering to all work-site safety rules and regulations.

MASON

Builds walls, fences, walkways, roads, and other structures using bricks, stone, concrete blocks, or marble. Carves out and builds structures and surfaces with bricks or concrete blocks. Places brick or concrete blocks on mortar bed. Cuts or saws bricks to fit around windows and doors. Measures distances to lay out work. Mixes mortar and grout to be used to lay brick. Spreads mortar onto brick or block surface with a trowel. Examines brickwork to ensure structure is built correctly. Performs other related duties as assigned.

CARPENTER

  • Taking measurements and preparing the site for woodwork
  • Preparing drawings for cabinetry, framing and other construction projects onsite
  • Designing and installing fitted wooden shelves, cabinets and drywall
  • Installing fixtures and fittings such as handles, locks and hinges
  • Select and also evaluate materials for potential defects
  • Reading and interpreting designs to meet specifications set by Architects
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers and other tradesmen
  • Following all standards for kitchens and bathrooms in remodeling projects
  • Sourcing timber by size, strength and budget for woodworking or joinery projects
  • Assessing and reviewing additional carpentry or joinery refurbishments
  • Performing finish carpentry including siding, flooring and built-ins
