Using hand and power tools to cut and bend bars or mesh Tying steel reinforcement bars (rebar’s) to build cages Fitting spacers and chairs (supports) Using rebar to build special casts to keep setting concrete in place Fixing steel to concrete bases Setting out the work area, following engineering plans Installing beams and pre-cast slabs. Ability to read and interpret Structural and Rebar Shop drawings. Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed. Constructing structural components from raw materials. Using welding equipment to fuse structural components. Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size. Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed. Creating a suitable maintenance schedule and performing system maintenance accordingly. Create takeoffs based off Rebar Shop drawings. Program and operate computerized rebar cutter & bender. Conducting diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction. Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed. Adhering to all work-site safety rules and regulations.
Builds walls, fences, walkways, roads, and other structures using bricks, stone, concrete blocks, or marble. Carves out and builds structures and surfaces with bricks or concrete blocks. Places brick or concrete blocks on mortar bed. Cuts or saws bricks to fit around windows and doors. Measures distances to lay out work. Mixes mortar and grout to be used to lay brick. Spreads mortar onto brick or block surface with a trowel. Examines brickwork to ensure structure is built correctly. Performs other related duties as assigned.
