Bartender Job Summary The dynamic Bar Tender will be responsible for delivering friendly, courteous, and efficient beverage service to all guests in the Resort’s bars, lounges, and outlets. This role involves expertly preparing and presenting drinks to exact standards, managing bar operations including cash handling and inventory, maintaining impeccable cleanliness and organization, and ensuring responsible alcohol service while creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere in a luxury hospitality environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient quality beverage service to all guests, engaging positively, taking orders accurately, and delivering drinks with professional flair and presentation.
  • Prepare beverages (cocktails, wines, beers, non-alcoholic drinks, specialty coffees, etc.) precisely according to hotel recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines as ordered by servers or directly from guests.
  • Act as cashier for servers when required: process orders, close checks accurately, provide correct change, and remit appropriate funds to the general cashier at shift end.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the entire bar area: dispose of waste, clear and clean all glassware, wipe down bar counters, preparation surfaces, speed rails, and equipment throughout the shift.
  • Conduct opening and closing inventory of spirits, liquors, beers, wines, mixers, and other bar stock; compare against par levels and promptly inform the manager of any items requiring reorder.
  • Perform set-up duties as assigned, including stocking side stations, storage areas, beverage staging zones, garnishes, ice, and supplies to ensure readiness for service.
  • Execute general cleaning tasks using approved products and methods to meet all health, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Operate all outlet equipment proficiently, including but not limited to coffee makers, blenders, cash terminals, ice machines, and Micros POS system.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of drink preparation techniques, ingredient quality, flavor profiles, garnishing standards, and applicable health and hygiene regulations.
  • Strictly adhere to local laws, ordinances, and regulations regarding the service of alcohol, including verifying age, refusing service to intoxicated patrons, and practicing responsible serving.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction, respond promptly to requests or concerns, and upsell premium beverages, specials, or pairings when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with servers, barbacks, kitchen, and management to ensure smooth service flow and seamless guest experiences.
  • Participate in pre-shift briefings, inventory counts, and training sessions to stay current on menus, promotions, recipes, and service standards.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as business demands require. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations and perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality degree or formal bartending training preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of high-volume bar experience in a full-service restaurant, hotel, resort, or upscale lounge.
  • Prior customer service experience in a hospitality environment strongly preferred.
  • Current CARE (or equivalent responsible alcohol service) certification required; must be maintained or obtainable upon hire.
  • Proficiency with Micros POS (or similar point-of-sale systems) for order processing, check management, and reporting.
  • Strong operational knowledge of bar equipment, including coffee makers, cash terminals, blenders, and other beverage preparation tools.
  • In-depth understanding of drink preparation, mixology, beer/wine service, non-alcoholic beverages, and applicable health and safety standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to interact professionally with guests, servers, and team members.
  • Solid computer skills, including Micros POS and basic office applications for inventory and reporting.
