We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our dynamic team. With a commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety, we are looking for a professional with over 18 years of experience on-site carpentry work and deliver exceptional results on our commercial and residential projects. Job Duties and Responsibilities Blueprint Execution: Read, interpret, and work from advanced architectural blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate material requirements. Structural Construction: Build, erect, and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, roof trusses, and doorframes, using wood, metal, and other structural materials. Finish Carpentry: Accurately measure, cut, shape, and install intricate finish materials, including custom cabinetry, crown molding, baseboards, and window trims. Inspection & Repair: Assess, inspect, and replace damaged frameworks, structures, or fixtures to maintain structural integrity on renovation projects. Quality Control: Ensure all carpentry work meets exact project specifications, high-end industry standards, and local building codes. Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to P&R Construction's safety protocols and Cayman Islands occupational safety regulations to maintain a hazard-free work environment. Required Skills and Qualifications Experience: A strict minimum of 18+ years of proven, continuous experience as a Carpenter in residential and/or commercial construction. Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in the safe operation of all standard and specialized carpentry tools, including power saws, nail guns, sanders, and precision measuring devices. Math & Layout Skills: Advanced spatial reasoning and the ability to perform complex trade mathematics for layouts, leveling, and material estimation. Physical Stamina: Excellent physical condition and manual dexterity, capable of lifting heavy materials, working at heights on scaffolding, and operating comfortably outdoors in the tropical Cayman climate. Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to quickly resolve on-site structural, design, or material challenges. Detail-Oriented: An uncompromising eye for detail, particularly for high-end finishing and custom woodwork. Salary, Work Hours, and Benefits All compensation and benefits are provided in strict accordance with the Cayman Islands Labour Act. Work Hours: The standard workweek is up to 45 hours. Base Salary: CI$12.00 per hour
