JOB SUMMARY
The Banquet Server delivers warm, professional, and attentive service to guests across the resort’s banquet/event spaces, restaurants, lounges etc. This versatile role supports the banquet function, including accurate order taking, skilled food & beverage presentation, suggestive up-selling, table/room set-up and breakdown, payment processing, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards. The successful candidate enhances the guest experience while maximizing revenue opportunities and upholding luxury hospitality and brand standards in a high-volume, upscale environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities for the Banquet Server position include but not limited to the following:
Set up and break down banquet rooms/functions including tables, chairs, linens, glassware, silverware, and décor per event orders and luxury resort standards
Warmly welcome and acknowledge all guests in line with Westin brand standards
Take accurate food and beverage orders and serve meals/drinks promptly using proper serving techniques
Actively apply suggestive selling and up-selling techniques to promote house specialties, daily features, premium beverages, and event enhancements
Describe menu items, preparation methods, ingredients, prices, and beverage offerings confidently and accurately
Ensure proper table settings and overall presentation to align with fine-dining and banquet expectations
Observe Cayman Islands liquor laws as required
Process guest checks/payments accurately using Micros POS system and secure proper payment
Clear tables, maintain cleanliness and organization of dining rooms, banquet areas, service stations, and equipment throughout various special events.
Perform general cleaning tasks using approved products while adhering to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Collaborate effectively with kitchen, banquet, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service during regular dining and high-volume events
Maintain full knowledge of hotel banquet operations, food/alcohol offerings as per Resort Standards.
Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1-2 years of specific Banquet Server experience in a Luxury Hotel environment required
Proven proficiency with Micros POS (or similar restaurant point-of-sale systems) for order entry, check management, and reporting required
Hospitality diploma/degree or formal training preferred
CARE certification required (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire). C.A.R.E - Cayman Alcohol Responsible Education
Strong working knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and premium drink offerings will be a mandatory requirement for this role
Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware, fine-dining etiquette, and banquet presentation standards required
Excellent command of the English language (spoken, written, reading, and comprehension) required
Outstanding communication, guest-interaction, and professional demeanor a plus
Must be physically able to stand for extended periods, lift, push/pull 35- 50 lbs. and must be able to work in hot/humid conditions as required
Must be flexible to work all required shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Pay range is C.I $6.56 - $7.50 per hour, plus a share of the gratuities pool Benefits will include Health Insurance, Pension, Vacation & all other benefits as required by Cayman Islands Laws. Deadline to apply is 21-July-2026
