A Steel Fixer Helper is responsible for assisting in the positioning and securing of steel bars or mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures. This role is essential in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications, be able to work with precision and attention to detail and possess the physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. They will work closely with other construction professionals, including engineers, site managers, and concrete workers, to ensure that all reinforcement work is completed accurately and on schedule. Key tasks include cutting and bending steel bars to required shapes, tying rebar using wire and pliers, and placing reinforcement according to technical drawings. They must also be able to use hand and power tools safely and effectively, follow health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
