Maintains kitchen back-of-house area cleanliness throughout shift. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, fryers, and dishwashing areas. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, floors, and storage areas. Dispose of kitchen waste and maintain clean garbage and recycling areas; take out trash and rinse garbage cans. Restock kitchen supplies such as cleaning products, dishwashing detergents, paper towels, and basic consumables. Unload and store delivered food supplies, including lifting and moving boxes safely. Assist with sweeping and mopping floors, especially after spills or breakages Perform all end-of-shift cleaning and maintenance duties. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and prevention of cross-contamination. Report kitchen accidents, equipment issues, or violations of food safety procedures to the appropriate personnel. Must be reliable, responsible, and follow instructions, coordinate with kitchen staff, and maintain a polite, professional demeanor around back-of-house and sometimes near guests. Perform any other duties as required by the kitchen management team.
Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience High School diploma or equivalent Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene rules, proper handling of cleaning chemicals. Physical ability to lift heavy racks or waste bins (often up to 50lbs) stand for extended periods, and navigate outdoor/indoor spaces. Must be comfortable working a flexible schedule, including working outside of normal business hours (i.e. evenings, weekends and public holidays, as needed) May be exposed to a noisy, humid, and hot environment. Temperatures will vary depending on the weather.
