Plastic Surgery (MD/ Consultant/ Sr Consultant)

Job Summary

A plastic surgeon is a highly skilled medical doctor who specializes in the surgical correction, enhancement, and reconstruction of various body parts. They utilize their extensive medical knowledge, surgical expertise, and artistic skills to help patients achieve their desired aesthetic appearance or to restore normal function in cases of injury, congenital deformities, or medical conditions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Meeting patients, taking their histories, and examining their files in order to provide them with the best surgical options.
• Outline all the risks and benefits associated with the surgery prior to the procedure.
• Performing consultations with patients who suffer from birth defects, injuries, burn wounds, or those who want to enhance their physical appearance.
• To admit patients and do surgeries in operation theatre and perform procedures independently as per privileges bestowed upon him or her as per hospital policy.
• To conduct in-patient round independently.
• To mention operation notes and post-operative plan of care in the medical record.
• To impart relevant patient education as and when required.
• To mention date, time, name and signature against all entries in the medical record.
• To prepare the OR schedule for plastic surgery dept.
• To attend to patient’s complaints reported by the nursing staff as & when required.
• To give orders for discharge as per the patient’s conditions.
• To attend to all emergencies while on call.
• To abide by the policies & procedures of the Hospital.
• To help ensure compliance with quality standards & closure of the non-conformities

Qualification & Experience

• Educational qualifications: MS, DNB, Fellowship, Valid Registration or eligible to register in Cayman Medical Dental Council
• Relevant experience: Minimum 3- 5 years
• Functional: Clinical and medical skills.
• Behavioral: Good communication & interpersonal skills. Be proactive, punctual and empathetic.
• Language Skills: Good English spoken and written; Spanish language advantageous/desirable but not essential
