Heavy Equipment Oprator

Job involves safely running machinery like bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders for site prep, construction, and maintenance (roads, buildings, etc.), plus performing routine maintenance, safety checks, and coordinating with crew members, often requiring manual labor and strict adherence to safety protocols. Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating various types of heavy equipment.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting and working in various conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for maintenance.

Core Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Safely operating machines such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, graders, cranes, and forklifts to move earth, load materials, or pave surfaces.
• Site Work: Participate in general construction, grading, paving, landscaping, and utility installation/maintenance.
• Routine Maintenance: Performing daily pre-operation inspections (checking fuel, oil, and tires) and minor repairs or lubrication to ensure machine longevity.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict safety protocols
• Documentation: Complete daily logs, inspection reports, and timecards accurately.
• Teamwork: Coordinate with supervisors and other crew members using hand signals or two-way radios to coordinate complex movements and ensure efficient workflow.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma
• Licensing: A valid group 4 driver's license is required;
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and use modern GPS or laser-guided systems for precision grading.
• Physical Stamina: The role requires the ability to lift up to 50–80 lbs, sit for extended periods, and work in extreme weather conditions.
