Design & Development: Conceptualize and design original handcrafted products, including but not limited to, all sizes of cosmetic and tote bags, sea glass wood plaques, resin housewares, mixed-media canvas art, and, decorative items.
Material Selection: Select, experiment with, and source appropriate materials (glass, lionfish spines, shells, fabric, etc.) to ensure quality, texture, and visual harmony
Execution: Apply various techniques, including sewing, quilting, painting, epoxy, glue, decoupage, and molding, to create, layer, and assemble, to produce high-quality pieces.
Quality Control: Ensure all finished products meet high standards of artistry and durability.
Inventory & Safety: Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace; manage inventory of materials and finished goods.
Customization: Collaborate on custom orders and specialized designs for clients.
Availablity: Must have flexible working hours including holidays, weekends, evenings, & split shifts if needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Proven experience as Crafter, or similar role with a strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of styles and materials.
Technical Skill: Proficiency in using various tools and techniques (e.g., heat tools, die-cutting machines, sewing machine, Sailrite machine, hand and and small power tools).
Artistic Sense: Strong understanding of color theory, composition, texture, and design principles.
Creativity: A "passion for experimentation" and the ability to turn found materials into art.
Dexterity: Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Organization: Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines for sales or exhibitions.
Must have own work space and tools.
Experience using online sales platforms and social media marketing for marketing. Math skills are needed to manage financial transactions.
Experience in teaching workshops or demonstrating techniques is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work with hands for extended periods.
Ability to stand, sit, or work on projects for long periods, including repetitive tasks.
Set up craft booth at local Craft Markets. Includes carrying tables, chairs, and inventory.
