Job Description

This role encompasses, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities

  • Scrape, rinse, and load soiled dishes, utensils, and cookware into the dishwasher according to established procedures
  • Operate the dishwashing machine properly, ensuring proper water temperature and chemical levels
  • Organize and maintain a clean and safe dishwashing area
  • Wash dishes by hand as needed, following proper sanitation guidelines (for delicate items or heavily soiled pots)
  • Refill dispensers with soap and sanitizer as needed
  • Take out trash and maintain cleanliness of floors in the dishwashing area
  • Assist other kitchen staff with tasks as directed, which may include stocking dishes, prepping ingredients, or cleaning equipment
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Additional Responsibilities

  • Follow restaurant policies, rules and regulations as set forth by Management
  • Follow safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Management; and complete safety training and certifications
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure a smooth dining experience for our guests
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds with assistance
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Management

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions precisely and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality
  • Excellent understanding of food handling and safety and sanitation principles
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Available to work flexible hours, including on Public holidays, weekends and evenings
  • Entry Level possible, however some experience in fast-paced restaurant kitchen environment preferred.
