The Teacher and Program Coordinator plays a pivotal leadership role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education at Kiddiewinks and Sprogs. This role combines excellence in teaching, coordination of educational programs, leadership in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) responsibilities, and Forest School program leadership. The role reflects the schools’ commitment to eco-conscious, Reggio Emilia-inspired, child-led learning across both Early Years and Key Stage One. This role is a senior role and the applicant must qualify for a License to Teach in the Cayman Islands. It is a split role, servicing both Kiddiewinks in West Bay and Sprogs in George Town. The candidate would be the program coordinator for the Forest School Program, responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Forest School Program in both schools so must have their Forest School Leader Level 3 Qualification. They would be a Designated Safeguarding Lead so must have experience in this role and must have experience either as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENco) or be fully able to support a SENco with their role. As a Teacher the candidate must be able to lead the development and implementation of an emergent, inquiry-based curriculum incorporating Caymanian culture and eco-education for a class of young children, including those with complex additional needs, and be proficient in observing and reporting on child development in accordance with the key developmental stages. The candidate will also be both school’s eco-lead and must be able to coordinate eco-initiatives including recycling, gardening and sustainability workshops as well as produce the schools’ Eco Newsletter.
