Job Description

Conyers is a leading international law firm advising on the laws of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands. Conyers has seven offices worldwide and is affiliated with the Conyers Client Services group of companies which provide corporate administration, secretarial, trust and management services. About the job Conyers' Corporate practice provides top-tier advice to a global client base on the full spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, investment funds, corporate finance and general corporate services, with particular strength in structuring for international transactions.

What Will You Do

  • Advise a broad range of local and international clients on secured lending, corporate finance and cross-border financing transactions
  • Support asset and structured finance mandates across a range of sectors, including transaction structuring, registration and portfolio-level transfers
  • Assist on securitization and other structured finance matters, including the establishment of special purpose vehicles
  • Advise issuer and financing vehicles on debt issuance programs and related capital markets transactions
  • Draft and review transactional documentation for complex, multi-jurisdictional financings
  • Liaise with onshore counsel, lenders, lessors and other advisers across jurisdictions
  • Participate in business development
  • Support and lead on projects as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of 10 years' PQE, with demonstrable, successful experience in corporate finance, banking or asset finance work sufficient to advise independently on substantial and complex matters
  • Proven experience and strong knowledge of Cayman Islands corporate and finance law, ideally including exposure to aviation, shipping or structured finance transactions
  • Ability to communicate confidently with the Corporate Department, local and overseas clients, onshore counsel and other professional advisers
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and legal practice management software
  • Knowledge of the regulatory laws, rules, statements of guidance and best practices applicable to professional services operating globally
