Assistant Operator-Wastewater

The successful candidate will work within the Operations Department (Wastewater Division) and will perform a variety of tasks involved with the maintenance of equipment, installation and repairs to the wastewater infrastructure of the Water Authority, which includes the Wastewater Collection System (WWC) and the public Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Good reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Solid computer skills required in order to store and retrieve electronic data and records.
• Entry level certification in water distribution or wastewater collection/treatment operations or the ability to obtain certification within a specified period.
• Practical experience using hand and power tools and equipment commonly used in water and wastewater utilities.
• Ability to undertake heavy manual work, including working in confined spaces, at height, and on rough, uneven terrain.
• Valid Cayman Islands Group 2 Driver’s Licence required, Group 4 would be an advantage.
• Ability to work scheduled on call shifts, to answer emergency calls at odd hours, holidays and weekends.
