This position requires the successful applicant to Captain a 250-300 person passenger vessel and be responsible for maintenance, safety, and upkeep of the vessel. They will also have to have experience in heavy ship yard works like sandblasting, spraying, and mechanical. The hours are very varied in both the winter cruise season and the summer re-fit season; they can be very long. Early starts are the norm, not the exception. A Merchant Marine qualification and or Mechanical qualification would be advantageous, but experience is key. The ability to command a vessel and work without supervision is a must. 5 years of proven boat handling experience and shipyard work will be examined at the interview process. Weekend work and bank holidays will be required.
