Building Maintenance Worker

Gamiz Cayman Ltd is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker responsible for general construction duties, building maintenance, site preparation and finishing duties at various sites around Grand Cayman to ensure structural integrity and functionality of installation works. The Building Maintenance Worker will also be responsible for assisting other skilled tradesmen on site, performing minor to major repairs of various installations to maintain project timelines, as well as performing daily site inspections on equipment, scaffolding and hand/power tools to maintain performance. Duties may also require assistance with retrieving and delivering materials to various sites.

Requirements/Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in general construction, building erection, site inspections and equipment maintenance. General construction duties include masonry, carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning, electrical, painting, heavy equipment operation, etc.
• Ability to move heavy air conditioning equipment and other installation materials around job sites
• Experience with removing hazardous materials and assisting with erecting and inspecting various safety equipment such as scaffolding, harnesses, etc.
• Experience with core drilling, pipe work, ductwork, site preparation and clean up
• Ability to assist various tradesmen on construction sites with equipment retrieval and installations/removals
• Ability to work overtime, public holidays and weekends to meet site demands
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure with strict time constraints and deadlines
• Must be neat & tidy and take an exceptional amount of pride in your work
• Working as part of a dedicated and experienced team so must be able to work closely with other members and train and mentor where necessary
• Must be able to communicate in English both written and spoken
• Must possess clean police clearance and be able to provide 2 verifiable references for experience/qualifications
