Position Overview We’re looking for energetic, caring Bus Attendants who know how to keep kids safe, happy, and engaged on the way to and from school. Bus Attendants are at the heart of the ride, helping students find their seats, keeping everyone buckled up and smiling, and making sure every trip runs smoothly. Key Responsibilities Welcome students on board, help them get seated safely, and ensure seatbelts are fastened. Ensure every student scans in through the RFID system during boarding so there is an accurate, real-time record of each child on board. Maintain a calm, positive, and orderly environment on the bus, providing gentle reminders when needed. Use the Zip app to manage parent communications, complete headcounts, and share important updates with the operations team. Coordinate closely with the driver regarding route changes, timing, and safety procedures. Support younger students with bags, seatbelts, and general guidance during boarding and drop-off. Report incidents promptly through the app and help keep the bus clean and organised. Participate in safety drills and respond appropriately in emergency situations, with training provided. Work Schedule Morning Shift: 5:30 am. – 8:00 am (school days) Afternoon Shift: 2:30 pm. – 5:00 pm (school days) Flex Opportunities: Earn extra pay by providing additional administrative support to the business when needed. This is ideal for attendants who want to increase their hours and take on extra responsibilities. Qualifications Warm, approachable, and patient, with a natural ability to work well with children. Comfortable using smartphones and apps for tracking and communication. Calm under pressure, quick-thinking, and solution-oriented. Reliable and punctual. Able to provide a clean police clearance and complete First Aid/CPR training, which will be provided. Must maintain a drug-free status and be willing to complete drug screening and role-related health checks if requested. Physically able to move through the bus and assist children as needed.
