The successful applicant will be responsible for a wide range of carpentry and construction duties. These duties include, but are not limited to, the installation of foundations, the construction of ceilings, and the fabrication and installation of wooden structures such as roofing frames, cabinets, shelves, rafters, partitions, joists, exterior wall partitions, stud work, and drywall systems. The successful applicant will also build, repair, and maintain timber frameworks and other structural components. The role requires the preparation and construction of decks, staircases, and other timber features, as well as the assembly and installation of fitted furniture. The successful applicant will install fixtures and fittings, including windows, doors, door handles, locks, hinges, and door closers, ensuring that all installations are completed to a high standard. The successful applicant must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to carry out work in accordance with the designs and instructions provided by architects and other construction professionals. All work must comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining completed work as required, using and maintaining carpentry tools and equipment safely and effectively. The successful applicant will also perform any other duties that are reasonably assigned by the contractor and are consistent with the nature of the position.
