Assistant Mechanic

• Assist the Head Technician in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
• Support the installation, testing, and servicing of mechanical parts and systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop, tools, and equipment.
• Assist in preparing reports and updating job cards upon completion of work.
• Adhere to all workplace safety procedures and ensure proper handling of tools and mechanical equipment.
• Assist with inspecting vehicles and identifying mechanical issues or worn components.
• Support inventory checks and proper storage of mechanical parts and supplies.
• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and within required timelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in the automotive mechanical field.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Technical or vocational certification in Automotive Mechanics is an asset.
• Assisting with vehicle diagnostics, engine systems, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Ability to use mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and repair manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license would be an advantage.
