Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning parts and components.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair brake systems, engines, electrical systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and tires.
Perform preventative maintenance services, including component upgrades, corrosion control, and routine servicing procedures.
Verify vehicle performance through test drives and system adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of field service vehicles and equipment, including washing and removing concrete buildup from exterior truck components.
Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance and repair records by documenting all services and repairs performed.
Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections on heavy trucks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
Inspect critical vehicle systems, including brake systems, wheel bearings, steering mechanisms, batteries, engines, and tire pressure, and document vehicle conditions at the beginning and end of each shift.
Monitor and maintain all vehicle and equipment fluid levels daily, replenishing fluids as necessary.
Ensure heavy trucks and equipment remain fully operational at the end of each workday to minimize downtime and mechanical failures.
Adhere strictly to all workplace safety procedures and ensure all precautionary measures are implemented before, during, and after each project.
Operate heavy trucks safely, responsibly, and punctually to and from project sites.
Working Hours: Normal working hours are on a shift basis, not exceeding 45 hours per week, Monday through Saturday.
Requirements
Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in the repair, maintenance, servicing, and operation of heavy trucks and heavy equipment.
Possession of a valid Group 4 Driver’s License or equivalent, with a clean driving record.
High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
Valid and clean Police Clearance Certificate.
Physically fit and able to safely lift and carry items weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
Ability to work effectively in dusty, outdoor, and physically demanding environments.
Good oral and written communication skills in English.
Flexibility to work varying schedules, including shifts, overtime, weekends, and occasional night work as required.
