Job Description

PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH TEACHER - ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The Physical Education/Health Teacher is responsible for educating children holistically, guiding them in the process of becoming adept learners, facilitating experiences in the Physical Education/Health content areas, and collaborating with a team of educators to continually enhance learning experiences. To plan, develop and deliver high quality lessons using a variety of approaches, to continually enhance teaching and learning. To monitor student progress, keeping student records that include assessment outcomes and targets set at regular intervals in line with Academy policy, to enable all students to achieve their full potential. Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Education or Physical Education/Health content area with Education credentials
  • Specialized technical qualifications in the area of Physical Education/Health
  • Valid teaching certificate/license from a University whose program is recognized by the Caymanian Government
  • Prior experience in project based learning or similar progressive pedagogy
  • Minimum of three years of relevant successful teaching experience in an accredited school or school system Elementary or higher Physical Education/Health in a US-based school or International School with US-based or International Baccalaureate curriculum
  • Experience with using various co-teaching models and the ability to design courses
  • Experience with motivating students of all abilities to take part and learn new skills
  • Experience collaborating with other departments and teams excellent verbal communication skills
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Demonstrated ability with tech-integration in classroom assignments and student data
  • CPR/First Aide training or willingness to be trained
