Job Description

Actuary This role will support the actuarial team in conducting a broad level of actuarial analysis and will collaborate with team members to complete projects supporting the actuarial needs of the business. The Actuary will be part of a team of actuaries tasked with preparing actuarial models, designing structure and pricing reinsurance opportunities that are consistent with the Company’s risk appetite and growth objectives.

Specific Responsibilities include

  • Conducting broad actuarial analysis of a portfolio of policies to identify potential risks
  • Support profitable growth by ensuring pricing metrics and targets of business are appropriate for the risk assumed and are consistent with the business objectives
  • Support the Actuarial team through pricing opportunities
  • Build and maintain actuarial pricing and valuation models including in-force and new business rate setting, quarterly cash flow testing, ALM projections, deterministic scenarios, reserve valuation and corporate planning
  • Support the risk management function in evaluating and analyzing risks, recommending mitigating actions, and reviewing any risk mitigation measures in place
  • Work with asset managers to refine asset modeling approaches and assumptions including economic assumptions such as default, credit spreads, equity, and interest rate scenarios
  • Develop economic assumptions for various company scenarios and stress testing
  • Maintain stochastic interest rate scenario generator and update as needed
  • Produce essential asset inputs for asset liability management projections using reports produced by asset managers
  • Manage the pricing and valuation model formula databases for accuracy, implementing any new features as needed
  • Support team to streamline and automate modeling processes, utilizing technology to create efficiencies and conduct data analysis
  • Stay up to date on various changes to actuarial guidelines and requirements in the U.S. for both liability and asset valuation and modeling
  • Continue to develop knowledge, skills and abilities through assignments, coaching/mentoring and self-directed learning to increase actuarial competencies
  • Monitor performance of existing assets and liabilities and emerging trends to knowledgeably advise
  • Ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned

Knowledge and Experience

The candidate will possess the below required knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related field
  • Associateship of the Society of Actuaries or progression towards Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries preferred, or equivalent under another globally recognized Actuarial credentialling body
  • 7+ of years of actuarial experience with broad pricing, valuation and modeling experience
  • Experience in US reinsurance industry, specifically annuities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to effectively manage and analyze large data sets using tools such as MS Access and SQL server is essential
  • Experience with MG-ALFA or other comparable actuarial modeling software is required.

This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours per week. Salary will be in the range of US$160,000 – US$180,000 DOE. Benefits include health insurance, pension, and eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Interested applicants should apply via the WORC Jobs portal by 2 June 2026.
