DGMC Maintenance & Construction is a premier construction firm in the Cayman Islands. We are looking for a highly skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a master-level understanding of carpentry and a proven track record of managing on-site tasks effectively.
Expert Craftsmanship: Advanced proficiency in both rough and finish carpentry, including framing, roofing, cabinetry, and fine trim work. Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex architectural blueprints and technical shop drawings with 100% accuracy. Leadership: 5 - 10 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or "lead" capacity, guiding junior carpenters and helpers. Precision Math: Strong ability to calculate dimensions, angles, and material requirements to minimize waste. Tool Proficiency: Mastery of all hand and power tools (table saws, miter saws, pneumatic systems) with a strict focus on safety.
Structural Execution: Leading the construction of wooden frames, floor beams, and roof trusses for new builds and renovations. Interior Finishing: Installing high-end windows, doors, custom cabinetry, and intricate moldings to a "punch-list" ready standard. Site Coordination: Overseeing daily carpentry tasks on-site, ensuring quality control and adherence to project timelines. Maintenance & Safety: Ensuring all equipment is maintained and that the job site complies with Cayman Islands health and safety regulations. Material Management: Estimating, selecting, and ordering timber and hardware for specific project phases. Salary & Compensation Base Salary: CI$12.00 per hour (minimum) Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
