The Buyer will be responsible for leading the procurement process through the effective management of the overall global spend and for establishing a reliable sourcing structure, leveraging total spend across all businesses and categories, continuing to drive to low cost sourcing and evaluating reliable supply, delivery terms, and volume specifications in in line with the overall sourcing strategy.
Development and execution of company strategy for direct and indirect procurement including i) creating global scale and leverage of spend; ii) developing an integrated view across the business units; iii) delivering business unit cost and cash flow targets. Development and execution of a strategic operating plan that focuses on a proven network and contacts based in the UK,EMEA & JAPAC and enhancing global manufacturing and supply chain processes and performance. Leading and directing a team of up to 50 direct and indirect employees with accountability for FFE loose, fitted and raw materials, capital goods, indirect and MRO, driving world-class performance in sourcing and procurement and leveraging spend to improve productivity and cost efficiency, aligning with business strategies to optimize value. Experience and Skills A minimum of 7+ years of experience in senior sourcing and procurement functions including experience with both direct and indirect purchasing within the FFE, Fit out, shipping, logistics and warehousing Industries on a global scale but with a specific focus on UK, EMEA, JAPAC Proven experience in face to face meetings with manufacturers in their territories more specifically UK, EMEA, JAPAC to negotiate contracts and ensure a smooth flow of supply with offshore manufacturers 6+ years experiences in a senior position in a process flow environment with successful strategic and tactical supply chain results. At least 6 years experience negotiating, managing and implementing pricing structure on raw materials and other manufacturing supplies from domestic and international vendors. Experienced negotiator in large contract negotiations up to $10 million, able to balance cost, financial, quality and legal terms in complex negotiations. Strong understanding of how to optimize landed cost with supplier and delivery risk through tough negotiation, good vendor selection and appropriate contract terms. Strong ability to create and maintain processes while also collecting and measuring various metrics. Relying on data for decisions on forecasting, negotiations and investments. Experience in weekly sourcing of new suppliers in UK, EMEA and JAPAC and resourcing products; in search of better quality, value, and terms Develop and implement purchase price change management process through standard practices and procedures to identify supplier price changes and recover or share the cost change with the customers Define, develop, and oversee purchase forecasting, planning, and MRP processes Experience and willingness to travel as necessary internationally to meet with suppliers, shipping, logistic and warehouse companies Solid experience participating in board meetings and speaking with people at to CEO level / Board of Directors & shareholders providing day to day activity and updates.
