Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to join the firm as a Senior Conflicts Advisor in our Office of General Counsel team. The sits within our global Conflicts function and provides conflicts support globally with conflicts analysis, escalations and reporting. The role is focused on conflicts of interest. The role requires knowledge of applicable professional conflicts rules and a good understanding of the client base and nature of work and transactions undertaken by Walkers. Although based in Cayman, the role will be global and may be required to support other offices as required. Full training will be provided but the successful applicant will be expected to supplement this with independent reading and remain up-to-date with relevant activity in the market. Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyse, and assess conflicts reports to identify legal, commercial, and reputational risks across multiple jurisdictions
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex conflicts issues, providing clear, practical, and commercially focused recommendations
  • Support the firm’s risk and compliance framework by ensuring conflicts processes align with professional standards and internal policies
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across global offices, particularly within the Americas region, to facilitate timely and effective conflicts resolution
  • Prepare high-quality reports, summaries, and recommendations for Conflicts Committees and senior leadership
  • Assist with the drafting, review, and negotiation of conflicts waivers and engagement terms where required
  • Contribute to global conflicts and compliance initiatives, process improvements, and strategic projects
  • Deliver guidance, mentoring, and training to junior team members and wider business stakeholders
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, responsiveness, and client service within a fast-paced international environment
  • Build trusted relationships with partners and business teams while balancing commercial objectives with regulatory obligations

Knowledge & Experience

  • Graduate with a minimum of 4+ years’ experience in an international risk and compliance function, with a focus on conflicts of interest
  • Strong working knowledge of professional conflicts rules, including identification, assessment and management of conflicts
  • Proven experience reviewing and analysing complex conflict reports, acting as an escalation point and applying sound, commercially focused judgement
  • Ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice on complex and time-sensitive conflicts matters to senior stakeholders, including partners and fee earners
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience working across regions and influencing at all levels
  • Experience preparing high-quality reports and recommendations, including for Conflicts Committees, and proposing practical mitigation strategies
  • Experience supporting conflicts waivers and contributing to global initiatives or projects within a risk and compliance environment
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor junior team members
  • Strong analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure
  • Proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Intapp or similar conflicts or onboarding systems preferred
