Is hiring a Steel Fixer to be responsible for preparing and installing steel reinforcement bars (rebar) and mesh used in concrete structures. This role is essential for strengthening concrete in construction projects such as buildings, bridges, and roads.
Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and bar bending schedules Cut, bend, and shape steel reinforcement bars using hand and power tools Fix rebar and steel mesh in position for concrete pouring Tie rebar using wire, clips, or welding techniques Ensure correct spacing, alignment, and secure placement of reinforcement Install reinforcement in foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and walls Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other trades on-site Inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
Load and unload steel materials and tools Maintain tools and equipment in good condition Follow workplace health and safety regulations Keep the work area clean and organized Assist with other construction tasks when required
Proven experience as a steel fixer or similar role Ability to read and understand technical drawings Knowledge of rebar placement and tying techniques Good physical strength and stamina Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions Strong attention to detail
