Job Description

The Sales Assistant, Investments in our Wealth Unit is responsible for contributing to the management and development of client and prospect relationships through marketing, the sound administration of accounts, and the delivery of the highest standard of personal service. Licensed as an Investment Representative, the primary focus is to assist the Investment Advisor in the day to day trading and administration of the advisor’s book of business. The Sales Assistant may support more than one advisor and will also provide support with their business development activities. Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of client relationships, including the nature of the account and client's objectives. Issue instructions for client redemptions purchases, and transfers. Maintain client files in compliance with industry regulatory requirements. Check daily trades and all system entries in accounts for timeliness and accuracy. Participate in the growth of the Unit portfolio and profitability of the Scotia Wealth Management. A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in offshore brokerage products and services. Must be Canadian Securities Course certified or equivalent. Thorough understanding of all International Investment Advisory products and services in addition to a working knowledge of all products and services available through the Scotia Wealth Management Centre. Working knowledge of general wealth management products and services available in the local market is required. Sound knowledge of CIMA regulations and restrictions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, at times, maintaining professionalism and strong client service. Ability to work independently at times.
