Job Description

Job Title: Director, Client Services Accountable To: Managing Director Job Purpose: To deliver high-quality client services to a portfolio of Cayman-based fund and non-fund structures by providing effective governance and board support, overseeing service providers and key operational processes (including NAV and investment oversight), and ensuring compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and AML requirements, while building trusted relationships with managers, investors and professional advisers and supporting business development. Principal Accountabilities: -

  • Provide effective fund (and non-fund) governance services and assisting client entities with operating in-line with the fund’s offering and constitutional documents, regulatory and legal obligation and material contracts.
  • Including oversight of the fund’s investments, NAV calculation process and service providers.
  • Attend, and as necessary chair, board meetings of the client entities.
  • Liaise with senior personnel at hedge fund managers, investors, administrators, and other service providers.
  • Attend and assist with new client pitch calls.
  • Provide effective AML Officer services and assisting client entities with operating in-line with Cayman Islands AML legal and regulatory framework and fund specific policies & procedures.
  • This includes oversight of the entities’ KYC onboarding and AML review processes.
  • Review of agreements, contracts and client entity documentation as needed.
  • Implement consistent operational policies, practices and procedures for client entities.
  • Preparing reports for both client entities and other ad hoc reports as necessary.
  • Provide accounting and financial reporting services for a portfolio of client companies.
  • Liaise with attorneys, investment managers, investment bankers and other relevant parties including administrators concerning the setting up of new business and on-going issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform valuation services of exchange traded and private securities in relation to client cross trades.
  • Perform independent loan reviews of client entities to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Perform depo-lite services of client entities.

Education & Experience

  • Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant).
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in corporate accounting, audit and/or client accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting, audit or finance professional with at least 1 year as a manager.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a fund director.
  • Accredited Director designation with a professional body.
  • Registered as a Professional Director pursuant to the Cayman Islands Directors Registration and Licensing Act, 2014.

Knowledge & Skills

  • A deep understanding of investment funds, holding companies and special purpose vehicles.
  • Deep knowledge of Cayman legal and regulatory framework for Financial Services Providers.
  • At least 2 years of experience working within Cayman AML regulations, including:

o Strong knowledge and awareness of the Cayman Islands Regulatory Landscape, including the Cayman Islands AML Regulations and Guidance Notes and the Companies Act; o AML certification, or working towards such certification.

  • Deep knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP and at least 2 years experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Must have experience liaising directly with clients via email, phone, video and meetings in person.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work overtime hours.
  • Must be willing to travel to meet clients and assist with business development.

Compensation

  • Annual remuneration of US$100,000 to US$130,000 (depending on experience and credentials).
  • Potential of commission structure, discretionary annual bonus, up to five weeks of vacation, plus other statutory benefits.

Working hours
